About Aliy:
I began my journey as a professional photographer back in the early 2000's while working as an Architecture Student. I began my own wedding business in 2009. After 7 years running my own business as a wedding and portrait photographer, I made the switch to working primarily as a journalist, but I have never lost that passion for celebrating love in all its beautiful forms. I've been exclusively 2nd shooting weddings since 2018.
As a dedicated 2nd shooter, I do not run my own wedding business and therefore I am not your competition. My job is to ensure that you and your brand deliver the best experience possible to your clients on their wedding day. With over 500 weddings under my belt I've seen it all. I bring more to the table than quality photographs, I also bring 15 years of expertise navigating the emotional and logistical intricacies of the wedding day. What are your strengths?

Where are you based and do you travel?
My home is outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. I have close ties to Boston and NYC and shoot near both locations on a regular basis. Locations in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Lower Michigan, Illinois, Eastern Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and the New York City area will never require a travel fee. I'm available to shoot anywhere in the world. I have a passport, I speak three languages, and I'm always up for an adventure.

I will not work weddings where guns are encouraged to be present. While not every guest can be screened for legal concealed carry, if open carry is encouraged, or if guns are likely to be a focal point, I am not the photographer for the job.

What is your experience?
I've worked over 500 weddings in the last 17 years. Nearly 200 of those as a lead photographer. You can feel confident that, should the worst happen, I am more than capable of delivering an amazing gallery of images to your clients in your absence.
I have backup equipment. I maintain a backup of all RAW files for at least 90 days.
In all those years, I've only ever missed TWO wedding weekends. One time I had COVID, one time for a funeral - which I still would have shot if the primary was unable to find a replacement. I pride myself in being extremely reliable and stake my reputation on it.
